Access Rio
A record for mental-health, community and child-health providers.
A note from public sources, read on 4 November 2026. Nothing here was verified by using the product. Vendor claims are claims. This is not a product review, and "not found" means only that the sources read did not say.
What it is
Access Rio, previously Servelec Rio, is sold by The Access Group. The vendor says it is used by almost half of the mental-health trusts in England, which was not independently checked.
Care settings
Mental health is its core market, with the Mental Health Act as a design driver. Community and child health are in scope. Primary care is not its market.
Comparison
| Area | Access Rio | This project today |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Community, mental-health and child-health record | Scaffold: identity, consent, allergies, observations, referrals, audit |
| Interoperability | Integration Hub (vendor) | FHIR R4 and R5 reads for three resources; HL7 v2 ADT inbound |
| Mobile and patient access | Field recording with sync (vendor); Mood Diary app | Mobile layout and patient portal not built |
Implications for this project
Legal status should be a dated record with its authority. Discharge from one team should not close the pathway. A single record with several profiles is close to this project’s plan.
